Damalie is the founding and managing partner of the firm and has a wealth of experience and knowledge. She is an advocate and Chartered Secretary. While pursuing her course with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA, UK) and at her Masters in Law level, Damalie specialized in Corporate Finance, strategy and Governance, Financial Reporting, and Intellectual Property. With experience of over 8 years, Damalie has and continues to render corporate advisory services, drafted numerous contracts and represented several businesses against URA both in the High Court and at the Tax Appeals Tribunal.
An ardent intellectual property practitioner, Damalie has assisted many innovators and businesses create, protect and enforce their intellectual property rights including through litigation both in the High Court and in the Supreme Court. Damalie has also facilitated trainings on Intellectual property including at the National Agricultural Research Organization. Damalie also served as a company secretary for the Anti Counterfeit Network Ltd an organisation engaged in fighting counterfeits with offices in Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria. She is a member of the International Trademark Association, a member of the IP Users Forum and the Uganda Law Society IP cluster.
Damalie has also represented several employees and employers in the labour office and in the industrial property court.
Beyond legal practice, Damalie is a mother of two amazing daughters and a wife to one awesome husband. She is also an advocate for women and together with other phenomenal women runs an organization called ‘The Awakened Woman’ that empowers girls and women. In her free time, Damalie loves to read and cook.
