The Traffic and Road Safety (Speed of Motor Vehicle) (Temporary Maximum Speed Limit) Order, 2012.

(Under sections 135 and 175 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 361).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister responsible for transport by sections 135 and 175 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 361, this Order is made this 3rd day of February, 2012.

  1. Title.

This Order may be cited as the Traffic and Road Safety (Speed of Motor Vehicle) (Temporary Maximum Speed Limit) Order, 2012.

  1. Temporary maximum speed limit.

A temporary maximum speed limit is prescribed up to a limit of 180km per hour for drivers of motor vehicles, who compete in the Mbarara Motor Club (MMC) Rally to be held on 24th - 26th February, 2012.

  1. Exemption.

Subject to paragraph 2, a person who drives a motor vehicle and competes in the Mbarara Motor Club (MMC) Rally to be held on the 24th - 26th February, 2012, in the districts of Masaka, Rwengo, Lyantonde, Mbarara, Sheema and Bushenyi, organised by the Federation of Motor Sports Club of Uganda (FMU), in conjunction with the Southern Motor Club (SMC), is exempted from the provisions of section 120 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, and the Traffic and Road Safety (Speed Limits) Regulations, S.I No. 33 of 2004 during the rally.
