The Traffic and Road Safety (Speed of Motor Vehicle) (Exemption)

(No. 2) Order, 2012.

(Under sections 135 and 175 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 361).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister responsible for transport by sections 135 and 175 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 361, this Order is made this 5 th day of August, 2012.

  1. Title.

This Order may be cited as the Traffic and Road Safety (Speed of Motor Vehicle) (Exemption) (No. 2) Order, 2012.

  1. Exemption.

A person who drives a motor vehicle and competes in the Rally Drivers Day out rally, organised by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of Uganda (FMU), in conjunction with Motorsport Africa Club scheduled to take place between the 19th and the 21st of October, 2012 in Masaka, and Kalangala districts, is exempted from the provisions of section 120 of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 361.

  1. Maximum speed limit.

A person, who drives a motor vehicle and competes in the Rally Drivers Day out rally mentioned in paragraph 2, shall not exceed a maximum speed of one hundred and eighty kilometers per hour, for the duration of the rally.
