The Constitution (Declaration of State of Emergency) Proclamation, 2007.

(Under article 110 of the Constitution).

Whereas floods have occurred in the Northern and Eastern parts of Uganda giving rise to loss of life and property and constituting a natural disaster;

AND WHEREAS the President is satisfied that circumstances exist in those parts constituting a natural disaster as described in article 110(1)(b) and (c) of the Constitution:

NOW THEREFORE, IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred on the President by article 110 of the Constitution and in consultation with the Cabinet, this Proclamation is issued this 20th day of September, 2007.

Declaration of state of emergency

A state of emergency is declared in the Northern and Eastern parts of Uganda.
