The Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of National Update of Voters' Register) Instrument, 2005.

Under Section 19 (7) and (8)(b) of the Electoral Commission Act, (Cap 140).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Electoral Commission by Section 19(7) and 8(b)of the Electoral Commission Act, 1997, (as amended), this instrument is ma de this 24th day of March, 2005.

1.          Title

This instrument may be cited as the Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of National Update of Voters' Register) Instrument, 2005.

2.          Appointment of date of completion.

The 8th day of April 2005 is hereby appointed as the date upon which the Commission shall complete the phase of updating National Voters' Register countrywide which commenced on the 7th day of March, 2005.

3.          No application accepted after appointed date.

For purposes of paragraph 2 of this instrument after the appointed date, no application form countrywide, shall be accepted by the Electoral Commission seeking—

(a)                               to register as a voter; or

(b)                               to transfer to a new voting location.

By virtue of this Notice, the Statutory Instrument No. 17 appearing in GazetteNotice No. 14 of 7th March 2005, is hereby revoked.
