The Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of General Update of the National Voters’ Register) Instrument, 2005.

(Under Section 19(7) and (8)(a) of the Electoral Commission Act, (Cap. 140).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Electoral Commission by Section 19(7) and (8)(a)of the Electoral Commission Act, this Instrument is made this 7th day of March, 2005.

1.           Citation.

This Instrument may be cited as the Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of General Update of the National Voters’ Register) Instrument,

2004  .

2.           Appointment of date of completion

The 21st day of March, 2005, is hereby appointed as the date upon which the Commission shall complete the exercise of updating the National Voters’ in preparation for the forthcoming cycle of elections, countrywide.

3.           No application accepted after appointed date.

For purposes of paragraph 2 of this Instrument, after the appointed date, no application form in countrywide, shall be accepted by the Electoral Commission, seeking—

(a)                                 to register as a voter; or

(b)                                 to transfer to a new voting location.
