The Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of Update of Voters’ Register for Lira District) Instrument, 2003.

(Under subsections (7) and (8)(c) of section 19 of the Electoral Commission Act 1997, (as amended), Act No. 3 of 1997).

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Commission by subsections (7) and (8)(c)of section 19 of the Electoral Commission Act, 1997 (as amended), this Instrument is made this 11th day of March, 2003.

1.           Citation

This Instrument may be cited as the Electoral Commission (Appointment of Date of Completion of Update of Voters’ Register for Lira District) Instrument, 2003.

2.           Appointment of date of completion

The 13th day of March, 2003 is appointed as the date upon which the Commission shall complete the exercise of updating the Voters’ Register for purposes of the Local Government Council District Chairperson by-election, Lira District.

3.           No applications accepted after appointed date

For purposes of paragraph 2 of this Instrument, after the appointed date no application form in Lira District, shall be accepted by the Electoral Commission, seeking—

(a)                               to register as a voter; or

(b)                               to transfer to a new voting location.
