The Customs Tariff (Amendment of Schedule 1) (No. 1) Order, 2001.

(Under subsection (3) of section 1 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1970)

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister responsible for finance by subsection (3) of section 1 of the Customs Tariff Act, this Order is made this 18th day of January, 2001.

1.          Citation.

This Order may be cited as the Customs Tariff (Amendment of Schedule 1) (No. 1) Order, 2001.

2.          Amendment to Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 to the Act is amended by substituting—

(i)           for the import duty rate of tax of 15% or 19 US cents per square metre whichever is higher for items specified in Heading Nos 52.08 to 52.12. 54.07 and 54.08 and 55.12 to 55.16 the following rate—

“15%

(ii)            for the import duty rate of tax of 15% or US$ 2 per pair whichever is higher for items specified in H. S. Codes Nos. 6302.21.00 to 6302.39.00 the following rate_—

“15% per pair”
