CHAPTER 203

THE FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICERS (FEES AND CHARGES)

ACT.

Commencement: 9 October, 1962.

An Act to make provision for the fees and charges of foreign service officers and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

1. Power to prescribe fees and charges.

The Minister may, by statutory order, prescribe the fees and charges which may be taken or imposed for any matter or thing done by a foreign service officer in the discharge of the duties or functions of his or her office or of any other duties or functions which he or she may be authorised to perform by virtue of his or her office.

2. Disposal of fees and charges, etc.

Any fees and charges prescribed by an order made under this Act—

shall, when taken, form part of the revenue of Uganda and shall be disposed of as such in accordance with the Public Finance Act; and

subject to the provisions of that Act, shall be levied and accounted for, and may be remitted, in accordance with directions issued by the Minister.

3. Notice of fees and charges to be displayed.

A notice specifying the fees and charges prescribed by any order made under this Act shall be conspicuously displayed in the office of every mission and in every consular office.

4. Provisions when fees or charges prescribed under other laws.

When any fee or charge prescribed by an order under this Act differs from a fee or charge fixed or prescribed for the same matter or thing under any other written law, the fee or charge which may be taken or imposed by a foreign service officer shall be that prescribed under the order.
