Anup Singh Choudry v Attorney General (HCT-00-CV-MC-0057-2012) [2012] UGHC 94 (24 May 2012);

Flynote:

Search Summary:

In this case the applicant sought court for extension of time for application of judicial
review for 14 days or other time. This was on grounds that the applicant had not been
notified of the decision by judicial service commission against him and he deserved a
hearing since he was never given the reasons.

Headnote and Holding:

Court considered whether there was a good reason disclosed by the applicant to
warrant extension of time for application of judicial review. Court held that good
reason had been disclosed by the applicant for extension of time for application of
judicial review. Court was satisfied from its findings that a decision had been reached

against the applicant without his knowledge hence triggering the delay in application
for judicial review. That was considered to be good reason for extension of time.
Accordingly court granted the applicant’s application for extension of time for
application of judicial review.
